Those in the film industry who deal with contract preparation time and again face difficulties and confusion in view of national and international regulations. This workshop met the challenge of answering the questions most frequently asked by executive producers, production assistants and line producers. During the seminar, individual steps of contract preparation for a mock film production were discussed, focussing on the following points: General principles of contract preparation in the national and international field; Contracts which are required and useful in regular intervals; In-depth discussion of an international co-production contract; Casual discussion of typical provisions, clauses recommended to producers, and risks in the context of distribution contracts, option and literary purchase agreements.

Our speaker, Dr. Stefan Rüll, who has been involved in the film and TV business for many years, is a lawyer who specializes in providing consultation service as well as legal representation to German and foreign producers and distributors.
