Eight MDM-Funded Films on Shortlist for German Film Prize

Today, the German Film Academy announced the pre-nomination shortlist for the German Film Prize. In includes eight films realized with financial support from Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung (MDM).

In the Fictional Feature Film category, "Fabian" (directed by Dominik Graf), "Precious Ivie" (directed by Sarah Blasskiewitz), "The Girl with the Golden Hands" (directed by Katharina Marie Schubert) and "Copilot" (directed by Anne Zohra Berrached) are eligible for nomination.

In the Documentary Film section, "Scars" (directed by Agnieszka Zwiefka) and "Space Dogs" (directed by Elsa Kremser and Levin Peter) have been shortlisted.

Finally, in the Children’s Film section, "Cabinets of Wonder" (directed by Susanne Kim) and "Träume sind wie wilde Tiere" (directed by Lars Montag) have made it onto the list.

The final nominations will be announced on August 19. The German Film Prizes aka Lolas will be awarded to their winners on October 1.
