European Film Awards 2021: MDM-Funded Films Longlisted
In addition to the love drama "Great Freedom" (directed by Sebastian Meise), "Fabian" (directed by Dominik Graf) and "Never Gonna Snow Again" (directed by Małgorzata Szumowska and Michał Englert) have landed a spot on the longlist of the European Film Academy for the 34th European Film Awards.
Another longlisted film, "Supernova" by Harry Macqueen, received MDM backing for marketing and distribution. An additional nomination hopeful is "What Do We See When We Look at the Sky?" by Alexandre Koberizde, which was produced by Leipzig-based New Matter Films. That company was a successful applicant in the recent, first-ever call for submissions to MEDIAstart, a brand-new startup funding program backed by MDM.
The final nominations will be announced by the European Film Academy in Seville on November 9, during the European Film Festival. The awards will be handed out in Berlin on December 11.
