BIOGRAPHY
Friede was born in 1986 in Halle (Saale), Germany. For 14 years he played classical violoncello, later on drums in the punk band "206", before studying and graduating in Cinematography at the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF). He is member in the European Film Academy (EFA), the German Film Academy (DFA) and the German Society of Cinematographers (BVK).

After shooting several prize winning shorts and two feature films which premiered both at the 63rd Berlin Film Festival he went to Mexico to shoot his debut feature film "Los Ángeles" directed by Damian John Harper, which celebrated its world premiere at the 64th Berlinale Forum and won among others the LA Muse Award at LA Film Fest, the First Steps Award (German Film Academy) and Best Debut Feature at Film Festival Guadalajara FICG. The film was also presented at Plus Camerimage in the European Panorama. The feature "24 Weeks" directed by Anne Zohra Berrached was presented in Competition at the 66th Berlinale and won the Lola in Silver at the 67th German Film Awards. "Lemonade", directed by Ioana Uricaru and produced by Cristian Mungiu, premiered in Panorama at the 68th Berlinale and was nominated for the German Cinematography Award. His work as director of photography for the Czech-German feature film "Brothers" by director Tomas Masin is representing the Czech Republic as the official submission for the 96th Academy Awards in the category Best International Feature Film and won the Czech Lion Award.
